Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Counseling

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often mischaracterized as a mere adjective, but it's a distinct condition. The phrase "I’m SO OCD" is commonly used, usually not with malicious intent, but rather to express a tendency toward perfectionism or tidiness.

OCD comprises two main components: obsessions and compulsions. These involve persistent, intrusive thoughts and worries, accompanied by repetitive behaviors aimed at alleviating these distressing thoughts.

Living with OCD can be draining, isolating, and feel like an uphill battle. However, improvement is possible.

Through evidence-based therapy sessions and techniques, we collaborate with each individual to cultivate coping mechanisms, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and gradually confront feared situations within a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.

Themes/Ways OCD can show up:

  1. Postpartum OCD

  2. Harm OCD

  3. Contamination OCD

  4. Sexual Orientation OCD

  5. Relationship OCD

  6. Scrupulosity OCD

…and more

“In order to recover, we must first believe that we can.”
